English, A Useful Tool

Learn a new language is always a pro in your life, you can be in another country and feel more comfortable if you know the country’s language and let you getting closer to the country’s culture; increase the odds of getting a good job and better salaries.  And as you probably know English is practically the universal language, if you want to learn a new language I recommend you learn English in a perfect way.

Actually I am in the university; here I have four English’s subjects which help me to improve my skills in this language like: writing, reading, listening and speaking; I think those subjects are very useful for me, especially the blogs, I am really getting better in my English skills. Still I would like to improve my vocabulary and also the listening. The solution for the vocabulary issue is read; I must read more text in English, start with showbiz’s articles and get to novels, for me that is the better way to enrich my vocabulary. For the listening I would see a lot of TV shows and movies in English with the English subtitles, like Friends in Netflix… it would not be for pleasure…is for the learning… I’m serious… because I get better in the listening and also practice the reading and the vocabulary is totally worth

Anyway manage a language like English is really useful, like a said before is almost a universal language, people of almost every country understand the English, so you can travel to everywhere and you could communicate only with the English.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Changes, everything changes with the time, sometime are for good, sometimes are not, for example: the communication, centuries ago people would have not imagined the possibility of talk with someone miles away, now is possible; we have a lot of device for that. On the other hand, with all the technology we communicate less and less with the people around us. So… technology is changing our life for good? Or for bad? I don’t know, but is something to think about it.

Anyway, I have to write around this topic: “Changes to my study programme”, as a freshman, I only know the programme of the first year. I mean, I have access to the full programme, but I can’t suggest about the programme of the next years, because I don’t know how those subject are executed.
 Resultado de imagen para students
I think the freshman programme is good enough, quite easier than I expected, but I have to be honest, the “orientation” subject of the first semester, wasn’t really good. Actually made me think in quite the career, I would make it more interesting. Also I would synchronise the subject’s contents, for example in “General Chemistry I” we learnt about the atomic structure, Also we saw the in “Mechanic” (aka Physics I)   but not in the same time. It would be better if we learnt at the same time in both subjects.

The big problem with this faculty is we don’t have a canteen, there is not enough space at the lunch time, and also the faculty is really small, in the summer there is few point with shadow to spend the time, and in winter there is not enough roofed places in case of rain. We need a canteen a big one.

The Rapel to Argentina

Summer Holidays, a date to share with family, relatives and friends, spent great time with your beloved, or that what everyone says, personally I feel kind a sad and melancholy in Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and I don’t know why I just know those aren’t happy festivities to me. But after the festivities I get my vacation… Well not exactly, probably I would have exams in January but after that I get totally free, and here are some of my plans for this summer.
Resultado de imagen para grinch
First at all, with some friends, we are planning to go to Rapel, Aileen, a friend have a cabin there, it would be great party with my friends in that cabin, get drunk and wasted all the days hahahaha, that for me is a really good idea.  Then in February I will go to Pucón with my dad, a beauty place in the south of Chile, there we have family, and we will stay with my aunt’s house. I spent great times there, I eat a lot of yummy meals, my aunt cooks an exquisite corn pastel.

After that maybe I will travel aboard to Argentina, it would be the first time I travel to another country, so I am really exciting about that, the first is always important. In Argentina I going to drink fernet, I have never tried it and I would like to do it, also I want to bought book and cigarettes there, because are cheaper in Argentina. I hope I can travel there.

Addictions

Addictions, an interesting topic, all the people has at least one addiction, some of them are harmless, but up to what point? All the excess are dangerous in some way, for example: candies, almost everyone like candies, there is nothing bad in eat candies, but if you eat candies all the time, you probably will have diabetes, cause of all the sugar you consume. If you try to quit your addiction, you will experiment abstinence syndrome, addictions are a really serious topic.

But let’s talk about my addictions, the alcohol, especially the beer, drink a cold beer in a sunny day, what a pleasure, and drink other, and other… until I get drunk, another pleasure… hahahha I mean, everything is better when you are a little bit drunk, just a little bit, I do not enjoy feeling dizzy and without any control of myself. In other words, I like drink alcohol in a moderate way. The statistics says you are an alcoholic if you drink all the weekends…. I do that, so technically I am an alcoholic, what a sad thing.Resultado de imagen para kunstmann

Another addictions I have is the nicotine, I really enjoy smoke a cigarette, especially when I feel stressed for the tests. Is the perfect way to relax, I know, Is dangerous smoke cigarettes, that is the reason why I try to do not smoke, but sometimes I really need one… someone please give me nicotine patch… HELP ME

Postgrad

In my opinion, have a postgrad is a really cool thing, not everyone has one, is evidence that you are expert in a subject, that probably you know everything about it, in other words if you have a postgrad, you rule dude.

But decided what postgrad I would like to study is a hard topic, basically because I don’t even sure if I like what I’m studying, it hasn’t a year since I am a freshman at the Universidad de Chile.  Here in Chile there is not many postgrad relative to the career of Pharmaceutics, at least not interesting ones. Well, that have a positive side, if I finish my study, and I decide to do a postgrad I would do it in another country, is a good excuse to travel aboard.

By the moment I feel attracted to have a postgrad in toxicology, is an interesting subject, is relative to the detect illegal drugs in blood test, also detect toxic substance, but the field of the toxicology is not really present in Chile, actually there is not a postgrad in toxicology in any university, so probably I will try to study this postgrad in another country.

Anyway, in the future have a postgrad will be a requirement to get a good job with a good salary, is better have one, just in case…

My Future Job

Hello... it’s me…, and here is another blog, today’s topic? : My future job. Is a little bit complicated talk (write) about my future job, cause is really future, I just started the career of Pharmaceutics. I haven’t thought about it yet, I have approximated six years to think about my future job, but here are some of my options.

Resultado de imagen para doctor simiWell the career of Pharmaceutics gives me many options for a future job, for example:  manage a drug store, work in the public system at hospitals, work in the cosmetic industry, in a lab supervising the medication’s manufacturing, as a chemistry professor and a long etc.

In spite of this great variation of options I do not know which one I will choose, to be honest I find a lot of this options really boring, probably I will leave this career hahahaha I’m just kidding (or maybe not). The area I find more interesting is work in a hospital, help people, advice people of the right use of their medication.

This kind a secret, but my actual dream job is other completely different: Have a bar and be the bartender, but you know is not a “professional job” so I probably didn’t make true this secret dream or maybe I will …. How knows?

Music

Hello everyone, I love the music, I can't pass a day without music, actually today my headphone has broken, so I didn’t listen music in my subway travel to the university, that was an awful thing to me, because  listen music is one of the things I really enjoy doing.

I started to listen to music as a hobby when I was like 10 years old; I used to like bands like “Linkin Park”, “Red Hot Chili Peppers”, “Nirvana”, “Blink 182”, you can realize that I used to have a very teenager taste of music. But everything changes; nowadays I don’t like them anymore.

When I was 13 years old, my dad gifted me a bass guitar, I learnt to play many rock songs. Later I started a band with two friends; we used to name our self “Los Parias”, we played some rock songs like Hardest Button of Button, Uprising, My God Is the Son, Psycho Killer, Weight of Love, Bettlebum etc. We played once in a “tocata” at high school, it was a total failure, I won't elaborate on that, is just a bad story, believe me.

Another aspect of music I like is the music in the Movies; the right music can really increase a scene and become it in an epic scene. The soundtrack of “Requiem for a Dream” is really sublime, has the perfect leitmotiv for the plot of the movie.

And to finish this blog, I would like to name some bands I listen nowadays, the most frequent bands to me are: “Muse”, “Foals”, “Pink Floyd”, “Stone Temple Pilots”, “Royal Blood”, “David Bowie”, “Led Zeppelin”, “The Doors”, “Franz Ferdinand” etc.

Olfaction

Hello folks, now is time for another blog and today’s topic is about the human body, everybody knows that the human body is like a perfect machine, there is a lot of process that happen in the human body, just for say something: the digestion, the cellular respiration, the excretion of non-useful substance etc. all necessary to keep us alive, in other words the human body is amazing.  Well I have to write about only one subject of our body, and I choose the sense of smell: The Olfaction

The Olfaction is a chemical sense, in the nose we can find hundreds of receptors, each binding to a specific molecular texture. When we got a molecule in our nose some receptor are more excited than others, this combination of excitatory signals determined the smell of the molecule, this signals are processed by the olfactory system then the brain translate this in the sense of the smell.

Resultado de imagen para olfato
That’s all the “science” behind the olfaction (in a very simpler way), to me is a really amazing sense, most people prefer other like the sight or the hearing, because are really useful and essential to have a normal life, but the smell let us enjoy the little details of a perfect situation : the smell of the beach, of the forest, of someone you love etc. the smell of something we like, can makes us happier.        Resultado de imagen para olfato

My Best Concert Ever

Hello Folks, Today’s topic is about the best concert I have ever been. Well, I haven’t gone to many live shows, actually only four, because is a little expensive get a ticket, at least for me; (yeah remember I’m a poor guy). Anyway, the best show I’ve ever seen was: David Gilmour in Chile, 20th December 2015.
Resultado de imagen para david gilmour chile

This story started at the first day of sale for the tickets, it was in September, I think; I went to HardRock café with two friends (Vicho and Pizarro) because in that place they sold the tickets cheaper. The line was endless; we spent a whole day to get the tickets, actually the same day the tickets got sold out.

The show was amazing, David Gilmour is a really good artist, he was the guitarist of Pink Floyd, one of my favorites band. I was in the floor pretty close to the stage. The atmosphere was sublime; the stadium was full of people singing out loud all the songs, the best moment for me was when he plays “Time” of Pink Floyd, that moment was epic.

A Contry I Would Like to Visit

Well... Hi again, it's a new semester, that only can mean one thing… there is new blogs over here. Today's topic is about a country I would like to visit, that is a hard question for me, I have never traveled aboard, probably because I'm too poor, so I would visit many countries if I could.

When I was a child I wanted to visit Greece, in that time I like the Greek culture, I used to know a lot of Greek’s myths, this “obsession” with Greece was probably a consequence of watch Saint Seiya,  I really wanted to be there.Resultado de imagen para grecia

Nowadays I don’t want to travel aboard to Greece, I mean, it is not my priority, I rather prefer visit England, because of the architecture of London, the cold weather and the British accent. Besides for what I know the British’s candy are really sweet,  I would eat a lot of them, if someday a travel aboard to England.

The Last One

Hi everyone, it has been a long time since the ninth blog, I have not written because the university was in a strike, but the classes are back and I have to do a lot of things to finish this semester, one of those things is finish the blogs sessions, and here am I, writing the last blog of this semester.

Today’s topic is about my experience doing this blogs. Actually I don’t know how to start, in the beginning was a little hard to me, because I’m not really good writing things in English, it was a challenge for me, but in every time I wrote a blog it got easier, some people say: “the practice makes the master”, I think that is truth.

About the blog’s topics, there were some that I enjoyed writing, like the one about the music, the one about a photo and the one about a trip. But also there were some others too much boring, like the one about the technology, the one about our favorite subject and the one about a person we admire. I would like to write about Tv Shows, Movies, Food or Books.

Well I think for this semester … That’s All Folks

A Week In The Mouth

Hi everyone, this is the second last blog, and I have to write about travels. Well, I have never traveled abroad, probably because I’m too poor, but maybe this summer I will travel abroad to Argentina. Luckily I have traveled to many places in Chile, especially to the south, like: Osorno, Valdivia, Villarrica, Pucón, Chiloe and Frutillar. Also I have been in some central places like the littoral beaches. Now I’m going to write about my worst journey ever, to “La Boca”.

This happened the last summer. In this travel I went with some friends to a shack placed in La Boca, sixth Region. The misfortune started before we arrive the shack, we were traveling in a bus when suddenly the bus broke down in middle of nowhere. So we had to walk to “Navidad” (A place near to La Boca) where we found another bus, which left us in La Boca.
Finally we were in the shack, sadly, the shack was awful, there was only four beds and we were six, there wasn’t a water heater, the shack was really uncomfortable. Besides La Boca is a boring place. Well, after all we had some fun in that hostile place, but surely I will never come back to there.

I Heart The Lab

Hi, in today’s blog I have to write about my favorite subject in my career: Chemistry and Pharmaceutics. Well, in another blog I wrote that I chose this career because I had to study something, so I was afraid of that maybe I won’t like the career, actually I can’t say if I like or don’t like, because I’m in the first semester, I have six subjetc, and to be honest I only like one of this subjects: Laboratory’s Techniques.
I have this subject every Wednesday, first we have a theoretical class, after that we have a laboratory class where we do what we have seen in the theoretical class. In that subject I learnt how to use many of the laboratory’s pieces, I have done many activitis in the lab: like a chemistry degree, simple distillation, liquid-liquid extraction etc.

I really have fun working in the lab, makes me think that maybe one day I will cook blue meth in a lab on a recreational vehicle in the middle of nowhere….ok I’m not Walter White, but a man can dream … That’s All Folks

Röntgen & The Serendipity

Well, today I have to write about someone I admire related to my career, which is hard to me, because I don’t admire anyone. So after thinking a while I decide to write about Wilhelm Röntgen, because I like the story about his discovery.

Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen was a German physicist and engineer; he was born in 27th march 1845, in Lennep, German Confederation. He died in 10th February 1923, in Munich, Germany.

He discovered the X-Rays in 1895. His discovery was by serendipity, he was working with the Hittorff- Crookes tube and with the Ruhmkorff coil because he wanted to find out why the cathode ray has a violet fluorescence. He covered the tube with a cardboard and then he saw a green light which disappear when the tube was off.  Then Röntgen realized that the tube irradiate some invisible ray through some metals. He named the ray as “X-Rays” because he did not know almost anything about the rays. For this achievement he earned the Novel Prize in Physics in 1901.

Nowadays we still use the X-Rays in medicine, to do radiographies, which is really useful to find out if our body is working good and healthy. Well the X-rays can be dangerous to our health; we have to use it with responsibility.

As a funny fact: Röntgen take the first radiography, it was of his wife’s hand, and here is:

The Kawaii Blog

Well, today's blog is about animation and cartoons, like everybody I saw many cartoons when I was a Child, I used to spend so much time watching cartoons on T.V., cartoons like: Dragon Ball Z, Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, One Piece, SpongeBob, The Fairly OddParents, Case Closed (Detective Conan) etc. I really like the last one, I thinks because all the mystery, the murders and stuff.

When I was like 14 years old I stopped to watch cartoons, I only watched it occasionally, I don't really know why, I guess because I started to feel more interested at T.V Shows like "How I Met Your Mother" and "Friends".

But it changes, a month ago a friend recommended a cartoon: "Gravity Falls" created by Alex Hirsh. I didn't want to watch it, but I decided to give a shot, and I loved it, the cartoon is about the twins Dipper and Mabel, who are sent to a small town named Gravity Falls, where their Granduncle Stan lives, They notices strange things happening in Gravity Falls, and Dipper found a journal with many secrets about that place, so the twins decide to discover all the secrets of Gravity Falls..... because there's many of them. I really recommend it, everybody should watch it. and... That's All Folks

The Day When JFK, Nixon & Lee Harvey Oswald Took The Subway.

Well Folks today I'm going to talk about  a very strange and funny photography for me.
here is:

That picture was taken after a history presentation, the presentation was about John F. Kennedy and his government. Beside the presentation we did some "acting" that explain the masks.

In the Photo: in the left is Felipe, with the mask of Lee Harvey Oswald, in the middle is me, with the mask of John F. Kennedy, and finally in the right is Vicente with the mask of Richard Nixon. Oh I almost forget Matías took the photo. That day we spent all the time with the masks, people saw us with a weird face, some laughing us, some insulting us, but that didn't matter to us, we were happy. I have enjoyed really good times with them, sadly I don't see them much now, the university consumes our time. I hope to see them soon. ...That's All Folks

Technology

I have to say this: I don't really close to the technology advices, actually I only have two: my cell phone and my laptop, but is the last one what I think is the best advice ever.

Well I love my laptop because I can do almost everything with it, for example: I can listen to music, see movies, read articles, save documents, photos, videos, songs, etc. Another important thing that I can do with my laptop is my university homework
Also the laptop have a comfortable size, so I can take it to anywhere: to the library, to the university, to a friend's house, and do everything that I describe before. But have one disadvantage: without wifi is almost useless, but nowadays there are so many wifi's zones around Santiago City, so that disadvantage doesn't really matter. And.... That's All Folks.

How To Choose A Career?

When I was a child I wanted to be a firefighter, but later I realized that the firefighter earn almost nothing in Chile, so I quitted the idea of be a firefighter. When I was 11 I decided to be a medical examiner, but actually I don't have the guts to open a dead body, so I drop that idea too. Then I entered to the high school and I liked the fact of be a engineer, because I like math, but then I searched more about the engineer's job, but didn't like what I found.

I passed almost 3 years without any idea about what study, so I stared to search about many careers, until I found one that interested me: Chemistry and Pharmaceutics, so I decided to study that career. In 2015 I took the selection university test; I got a good score at the test, so this year I stared to study Chemistry and Pharmaceutics at Universidad de Chile. Until now I really like this faculty, I feel comfortable with my classmate, I knew really friendly people here. and… That’s All Folks!!

A Meaningless Biography

Hi I'm Emerson Hernán Rioseco González, I was born in February 27th 1998, in Santiago, Chile. I went to the primary school in Pudahuel, at Antilhue School, then when I was 12 years old, I started to go to the Instituto Nacional High School, this year I began to study "Chemistry & Pharmaceutics" at Universidad  de Chile. Actually I started the university because I have to study something, and that career interest me a lot.

I'm the second and last son in my family, my father's name is Hernán and he is a carpenter, I live with him and my sister Angie. My parents are divorce, so I don't live with my mother, actually I don't see her much.

In my free time I usually read some books, my favorite writer is Julio Cortázar, because his stories have some kind special thing that I really enjoy. I love the music, I hear music everyday, I can't pass a day without music, I like indie rock, rock alternative etc.
